Gentlemen, I have an a fine vintage computer here running:

Process Software MultiNet V4.4 Rev A-X, AlphaServer 4100 5/600 8MB,
OpenVMS AXP V7.2

and I have a great notion to upgrade it to 7.3-1 and then to 8.3. Will
Multinet 4.4 run on 7.3-1 and 8.3 or is it high time I stopped being cheap
and bought a new Multinet distribution?

Or both...

MultiNet 4.4 will run on 7.3-1. You'll need MultiNet 5.1 (or later) to
run VMS V8.3

Thanks Richard, I will do the 7.3-1 upgrade and then go spend some money.

Just a small remark that you need to be at VMS 7.3-2 to
do the upgrade to VMS 8.3. My hobbiest system was at 7.3-1
when I wanted to upgrade, but I wound up to a full install
of 8.3 (because I didn't have 7.3-2 media to hand).

Check the upgrade docs carefully before you start...
