Hi,

Process Software MultiNet V5.1 Rev A-X, COMPAQ AlphaServer DS20E 666 MHz,
OpenVMS AXP V8.2

I just noted an odd OPCOM message on this system:

%%%%%%%%%%% OPCOM 15-DEC-2006 11:55:52.43 %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user MULTINET on LICKER
sbdrop: len=87, sb_cc=87, saved len = 87, saved_sbcc=87, saved_mbcnt=512

What does it mean?

Thanks,

Jeremy Begg

That's a debugging message from an unexpected path.

More recent analysis of the path has revealed a logic error that could cause the message to be displayed when there isn't a problem. (I can't say off the top of my head if this would fit in that case or not.)

Are these messages happening frequently on your system?

Hi Richard,

That's a debugging message from an unexpected path.
More recent analysis of the path has revealed a logic error that could
cause the message to be displayed when there isn't a problem. (I can't

Looks like there's been only two occurrences since the system was booted
back in July:

%%%%%%%%%%% OPCOM 11-OCT-2006 17:55:06.29 %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user MULTINET on LICKER
sbdrop: len=80, sb_cc=80, saved len = 80, saved_sbcc=80, saved_mbcnt=512

%%%%%%%%%%% OPCOM 15-DEC-2006 11:55:52.43 %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user MULTINET on LICKER
sbdrop: len=87, sb_cc=87, saved len = 87, saved_sbcc=87, saved_mbcnt=512
